Job Description:
In coordination with the Honors Program and the College of Arts and Humanities, the Student Success Coordinator will support honors students with their competency development and interdisciplinary studies students with achieving their academic and professional goals. The Student Success Coordinator will provide guidance to undergraduates about electronic portfolio development. The Student Success Coordinator will assist the honors staff and interdisciplinary studies faculty in recruitment and programming. In addition, the Student Success Coordinator will teach courses in the Honors Program and Interdisciplinary Studies Program.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application).
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an academic, academic support, or student services role in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underrepresented students and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to guide students.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Masters Degree.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an academic, academic support, or student services role in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, African-American, Asian-American, Indigenous-American, or Latinx cultures.
  • Working knowledge of student development theory.
  • Evidence of successful experiences working as part of a team.


Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
