Job Description:

SUNY Orange is currently seeking a Coordinator of the Center for Student Involvement to join their team.

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Student Involvement, the Coordinator of the Center for Student Involvement will develop and manage student activity programs designed to support student growth and development, and to successfully retain students. The Coordinator of the Center for Student Involvement will coordinate and assist the Director with student programming and activities, departmental assessment, and budgeting. This position will also be expected to exercise good judgment when providing input to students or the Board of Activities (BOA) with regards to college policies, procedures, standards and requirements. This role will also establish and maintain good public relations with staff, students and the community at large.

The Coordinator of the Center for Student Involvement will need to have a flexible schedule as some evening and weekend hours may be required. Travel between the Newburgh and Middletown campuses and other local sites off campus or out of state to participate in meetings, conferences, and other activities related to the operations of the college and the Center for Student Involvement will be required as needed.


Requirements:

Education Required:
Associate's Degree or higher

Experience Required: Minimum of one year of experience in student activities. Excellent organizational, analytical and planning skills with a background in developing student engagement opportunities; computer literacy in Google and Microsoft Suites. Must have a valid Driver's License and the ability to travel as well as public speaking, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

Bachelor's degree
Advising experience with Clubs, Senate and/or Board of Activities
Event Planning experience
Familiarity with Banner 9.
Community college or higher education experience.
Ability to understand department and college policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work-related questions; and interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations.
Ability to manage interpersonal conflict situations requiring tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
Ability to make decisions that will positively represent the college's reputation on a daily basis.
Ability to participate as a team member, understand and interpret rules and regulations, and the ability to adjust to change with a positive attitude.
Ability to interact effectively with diverse student populations and a wide variety of co-workers
Event planning skills.
Be self-motivated, flexible, creative and imaginative with the ability to speak in front of others.
Spanish speaking skills

Salary range: $47,056-$62,349 per annum; commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 40, 12-month position.
