Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Financial Aid. The person in this role is responsible to assist the Director of Financial Aid in all aspects of financial aid administration. The Assistant Director shall demonstrate the necessary leadership, expertise and required supervisory skills to enable the Office of Financial Aid to maximize the effectiveness of the service it provides to the University and the community. The Assistant Director will also be active on campus and participate in the larger regional and national organizations. The Financial Aid Office is asking all staff to assist in fostering and maintaining a positive atmosphere in the office. In addition to establishing a good rapport with co-workers and student employees in a manner that does not reinforce negative co-worker attitudes.
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will also assume programmatic responsibilities for certain programs and processes at the University while also serving as a resource to the rest of the Financial Aid Office. These responsibilities include the Extraordinary Academic Scholarship program, , Federal Work-Study fund, Veteran Affairs educational benefits, and assisting the Director with Federal Aid Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • At least one year of experience in Financial Aid or related field.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with university and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Banner experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Financial Aid.
  • Supervisory experience.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
    Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $68,000.
