SUMMARY


The Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC), part of SUNY Brockport, is accepting applications for an Admissions Advisor. The Admissions Advisor provides recruitment, admissions, and enrollment support to prospective and continuing students. The successful candidate will assist with student assessments, maintain student records, process enrollment-related documentation, and communicate with students through various forms of correspondence. This role supports enrollment initiatives through recruitment events, One Stop Enrollment services, and evening and weekend coverage as needed. The Admissions Advisor will also work cooperatively and collegially with professional staff, faculty, and administrators to achieve the enrollment goals established by the University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD).

JOB FUNCTIONS


Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates recruitment and admissions intake processes for new and continuing students.
  • Cross-trains with the Registrar's Office to assist with One Stop Enrollment.
  • Assists with the assessment of prospective students through screening, testing, and evaluation of scores (TABE, TEAS, CREST, etc.).
  • Enters data into Banner and scans documents into the electronic filing system.
  • Provides evening coverage one night per week and weekend coverage for recruitment events.
  • Participates in UCAWD directed projects as requested by immediate supervisor.
  • Creates and sends out appropriate correspondence to prospective students as needed.
  • Represents EOC at local career fairs.
Non- Essential Functions:
  • Participates in training and professional development as required.


REQUIREMENTS


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
  • Experience working in admissions, enrollment, and/or student recruitment
  • Computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A strong commitment to supporting a diverse student population and enhancing student success
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with Banner or related system
  • Experience working in an admissions office
  • Experience working with a non-traditional adult student population
  • Individuals that are bilingual are encouraged to apply


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


Work Schedule:

37.5 hours/week: Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm, with some nights and weekends required.
