SUMMARY

SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Social Work Practicum Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Practicum Education, the Social Work Practicum Coordinator supports the administration, coordination, and daily operations of the practicum education program. This role assists with facilitating student placements, maintaining relationships with community agencies and practicum partners, and supporting students throughout the practicum process. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the administration, coordination, and daily operations of the practicum education program.
  • Serves as a point of contact for students, practicum instructors, and faculty regarding practicum-related questions and processes.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Practicum Education to ensure practicum experiences align with program competencies, accreditation standards, ethical practice expectations, and the mission of the social work program.
  • Supports practicum orientation, training, and onboarding activities.
  • Supports students throughout the practicum process by monitoring progress and addressing practicum-related concerns as needed.
  • Assists with placement matching and communication between students and agencies.
  • Maintains relationships with community agencies and practicum partners.
  • Coordinates practicum documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Maintains practicum records, databases, and related documentation.
  • Maintains an understanding of social work education, professional practice, and practicum education processes.


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or from an internationally recognized college or university
  • Minimum of two years of post-MSW social work practice experience
  • Experience in field education, student support, or supervision
  • Knowledge of CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to collaborate with students, faculty, practicum instructors, and community agencies
  • Understanding of professional ethics, competency-based education, and practicum learning processes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensure (depending on state/program expectations)
  • Prior practicum instruction or supervision experience, and experience in higher education or student advising


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Work Schedule:

37.5 hours/week: Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm.
