Position Description
Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.
Major/Essential Functions
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate individual and group mentoring experiences, programming, and events including Mentor Tech and Tech Leadership Institute
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise Peer Mentors
- Actively engage in campus-wide initiatives and collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and administration to support mentoring efforts and student success
- Proactively identify programmatic and operational needs and work with the Program Director to develop innovative solutions and strategies
- Actively engage in campus-wide initiatives and collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and administration to support mentoring efforts and student success
- Assist with program marketing, outreach, and recruitment in collaboration with departmental and campus partners
- Develop and deliver presentations to students, parents, faculty, and staff on key topics related to student success and retention
- Utilize Texas Tech University and mentoring technology systems, including Raider Success Hub, for program communication, documentation, and reporting
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge, skills, and best practices in student success and retention
- Contribute to assessment and evaluation of program outcomes and effectiveness to inform decision-making and program growth and development
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and/or experience with student development programs within a college or university setting; Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel/Student Affairs, or a related field; experience supervising student staff.
