SUMMARY
The Department of Graduate Nursing at SUNY Brockport invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor within the School of Nursing to begin August 2026. This position has responsibility for teaching a 3-course load each fall and spring semester in the new Master of Nursing Education program. This faculty member will also engage in scholarly activity, and provide service to the department, School, University, and profession.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Teaching (50%)
- Teaches a 3 course load in the Master of Nursing Education program each fall and spring semester, though may be asked to teach in other programs
- Provides experientially based education
- Infuses diversity issues in teaching and practice
- Advises students in the Masters of Nursing Education Program
- Engages in scholarly activity to produce scholarly publications and related scholarly work
- Publish peer reviewed articles in nursing related national or international journals, conducts professional presentations at counseling conferences, and engages in other scholarly activities such as writing nursing related books or book chapters
- Provides service to the department, University, community, and profession
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD, DNP or EdD degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
- Master's degree in nursing or doctor in nursing practice (DNP) from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization
- Valid NYS professional nursing license
- Experience with the development of curriculum
- Demonstrated proficiency in teaching in the online milue
- Experience in the assessment and evaluation of effective online teaching
- Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences
- Knowledge of basic computer programs and information technology systems
