SUMMARY
SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer supports the University's brand identity and marketing objectives by creating compelling visual content across print and digital platforms. This position works collaboratively with departments across campus to design materials that promote the university's undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts, events, and initiatives in alignment with institutional goals.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
- Conceptualizes and designs engaging print and digital materials, including brochures, posters, signage, advertisements, email graphics, social media content, digital ads, event collateral and more.
- Maintains and applies the University's brand standards consistently across all creative outputs.
- Collaborates with marketing staff, writers, photographers, to ensure a cohesive visual strategy.
- Assists in the development of campaign concepts for admissions, fundraising, alumni engagement, and academic departments.
- Prepares files for professional printing or digital distribution, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
- Supports internal colleagues with design needs, from concept through delivery.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Stays current on design trends, software, and best practices in higher education marketing.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, or other art or design-based equivalent from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
- Minimum of one year of professional design experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design work
- Demonstrate ability to learn the tools needed to make all work accessible
- Excellent attention to detail, layout, typography, and color theory
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of HTML
- Higher education experience
- Photography skills
- Animation skills
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work Schedule:
37.5 hours/week: Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm, occasional nights and weekends
