SUMMARY

The Athletics Department at SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for an Athletic Trainer. Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Athletic Trainer will work with other certified athletic trainers, team doctor(s), the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP), coaches, student athletes, as well as campus departments including the Health Center, Counseling Center, and the Disability Resource Center to provide high quality assistance to various constituents across campus.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

  • Provides coverage for the Athletic Training clinic, home practices and contests, away contests as assigned, and supervision of the Athletic Training students. 25%
  • Provides injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries. 25%
  • Provides short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries. 25%
  • Maintains accurate and detailed documentation of injuries and/or illnesses, treatments, and rehabilitation progress. 25%


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
  • NATA (National Athletic Trainers' Association) certified
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State
  • Must be certified in CPR and AED trained
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
  • Experience working at the collegiate level
  • Previous experience in supervising athletic training students
