Summary
The Associate Director of the Radbill Center for College and Life Design provides leadership and coordination for key initiatives and strategies related to the development and implementation of Life Design at Bowling Green State University. The Associate Director will supervise a team of Life Design Coaches; manage day-to-day operations, events and programming of the Radbill Center; coordinate campus partnerships to foster life design opportunities for all BGSU students; and work collaboratively with the AVP/Executive Director and team of Life Design Coaches to advance the scope and influence of the Geoffrey H. Radbill Center for College and Life Design.
Essential Functions
Leadership and Administration
- Provide leadership and coordination of key initiatives and strategies that contribute to the overall success of Life Design at BGSU, including course curriculum and instruction, coaching, communication, assessment, co-curricular experiences and professional development. Coordinate and collaborate with the AVP/Executive Director in setting priorities and strategic direction of the office.
Supervision
- Supervise a team of Life Design Coaches and BGSU 1910 instructors, including hiring, training, ongoing professional development, and performance evaluation. Supervise graduate student(s).
Operations and Programming
- Manage day-to-day operations, events and programming of the Radbill Center, establishing and maintaining systems and processes to coordinate the consistency and efficiency of the Center.
Curriculum and Partnerships
- Manage and maintain campus partnerships that foster integration of Life Design into curricular and co-curricular experiences. Develop and sustain training models that ensure alignment of Life Design curriculum in BGSU 1910 and campus partner courses. Lead community of practice for all Life Design instructors. Collaborate with colleagues across campus including staff, faculty, and students. Represent the Geoffrey H. Radbill Center for College and Life Design on various university committees and workgroups.
Research and Assessment
- Coordinate research and assessment efforts that support the overall goals of BGSU and Life Design, including student learning and program evaluation. Monitor, track, and contribute to regular updates on the retention, progression, and engagement of students within the program. Use appropriate technology, data, and strategies to support university retention and four-year graduation goals.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Other and additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to, participating in and leading staff meetings, on-going training and development, recruitment activities, committees, and work groups.
Minimum Qualifications
The following Degree is required:
- Master's degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
The following Degree is preferred:
- Master's degree in college counseling, higher education, or related field.
The following Experience is required:
- 3 years of experience of program management in an educational setting
- 3 years of teaching/facilitation experience at the college level
- 1 years of supervisory experience
The following certification is preferred:
- Certification or demonstrated experience in life design, design thinking, and success coaching

- Knowledge of or ability to learn University academic policies and procedures, as well as available degree programs and support services
- Knowledge of computer applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, People Soft/CSS, student success software, various learning management systems, and an ability to learn and adopt other technologies
