Primary Purpose of Position:
The Associate Director of Student Organization Development, reporting to the Director of Campus Engagement and Leadership, serves as the administrator and advisor for all UNCP clubs and organizations including fraternities and sororities AND will coordinate all leadership programs for the office. There are over 2000 students involved in clubs and organizations at UNCP. The Associate Director supports and promotes the mission of the University, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Office of Campus Engagement and Leadership and commits to creating a values-based leadership experience for the UNCP student body to include members of UNCP student Clubs and Organizations including fraternities and sororities. The Associate Director of Clubs and Organizations serves as a member of the Office of Campus Engagement and Leadership team.

Job Description:

Provide overall strategic direction for UNCP student leadership initiatives and campus clubs and orgs. Create a comprehensive assessment program to evaluate student leadership, student development, and stakeholder perceptions and needs. Develop a communication plan to promote a comprehensive leadership program and clubs and orgs to prospective students and families, current students, faculty, and staff, and UNCP alumni.

Oversee the budgeting and expenditures of the leadership branch of the Campus Engagement and Leadership office.Prepare and submit reports detailing leadership initiatives and club and org (including fraternity/sorority) GPAs, recruitment and membership statistics. Maintain web and social media presence for the leadership branch of CEL to include clubs and organizations. Ensure online information is current, updated regularly, and founded in best practices to further the mission of the university, the Division of Student Affairs, the Campus Engagement and Leadership, and UNCP leadership programs to include clubs and orgs. Assist with all club and org (including fraternity and sorority) conduct investigations to ensure the process and potential sanctions are congruent with proper procedures. Advise all clubs and orgs.

Continually train and educate advisor support. Advise the implementation of club and organization programs including fraternity/sorority community wide programs/activities including Homecoming, Club and Organization Leadership Awards, assist with Greek event planning, etc.

Plan and assess leadership development programs for all UNCP students to include educational programming within clubs and orgs and new member education and risk management. Actively support the development of clubs and orgs students and alumni.

Serve as liaison to the University administration, working closely with the Director of Campus Engagement and Leadership to ensure collaborative partnerships are developed and sustained across campus for the purpose of upholding the values and tenets of UNCP clubs and orgs. Uphold all policies and procedures of Campus Engagement and Leadership not limited to those specifically for clubs and orgs. Continually evaluate the relevancy of current policies and the need for additional policies, initiatives, etc. Assist with supporting Campus Engagement and Leadership programming and office initiatives.

This position is designated as Mandatory Personnel: Employees whose presence has been determined to be mandatory to University operations during certain types of adverse weather or emergency events.

Management Preference:
Three years experience with collegiate level leadership programs for individual students and clubs and organizations. Experience working with diverse populations. Minimum of two years experience advising students/organizations. 1-2 years experience using Campus Labs, Presence or Modern Campus systems (called BraveConnect at UNCP) to promote, track and assess programs.
