Summary

The position provides office, administrative and operational support services to a student services department including coordinating Residence Life office operations utilizing specific knowledge obtained through education and experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Required)

Between 2 and 5 years of customer service/business experience (Required)

Experience in Residence Life (Required)

Bachelor's in Business Administration (Preferred)

Experience and skills in databases such as Excel, Access, Google Sheets, & Banner (Preferred)

Experience updating web pages (Preferred)

Related work experience in coordinating office tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously (Preferred)

Essential Responsibilities

  • (Critical) Updates and institutes changes to the housing contract and Residence Hall Handbook and ensures the Residence Life web pages are updated with current housing information.
  • (Critical) Coordinates the purchases and delivery of Residence LIfe furniture, services and supplies and processes purchase requisitions.
  • (Critical) Responsible for managing the receivables by billing the students accounts for room and board charges per semester? in addition to collection of damage deposits and past due NMC housing accounts. Manage and update Star Res software as needed.
  • (Critical) Assists with budget preparation and monitors accounts.
  • (Critical) Actively recruits at scheduled orientations and by giving tours of the building, which includes providing information on housing costs, deadlines and Residence Hall policies.
  • (Critical) Involved in coordinating the request and completion of maintenance issues as it pertains to East and North Hall.
  • (Critical) Schedules and assists in coordinating special activities, events and conferences.
  • (Critical) Assists and interacts with students, summer guests, suppliers and various NMC departments.
  • (Critical) Supervises others in accordance with NMC's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees? planning, assigning, and directing work? appraising performance? rewarding, recognizing employees? addressing performance problems or gaps.
  • (Critical) Determines admission status of Residence Hall applicants by conducting background checks, verifying grades and ensuring each student entering has completed the proper requirements in reference to their financial aid award by working closely with the Financial Aid staff.
  • (Critical) Collects and compiles data for reports, creates spreadsheets, updates and maintains housing charts/graphs and student information in Banner.
  • Coordinates individual or group reservations for Summer Conference Season from inquiry to final billing, ensuring the guests are billed accurately, the correct payment is made and deposits are made in a timely fashion.

Additional Information
Work hours vary outside of the regular 8 am- 5 pm schedule. Some weekends and some late nights, especially at the beginning of the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
