The Leadership Development, Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing programs and initiatives related to student leadership development and professional development. This role is housed within Roger C. Stewart Leadership and Professional Development department and will work with campus partners to meet the goal of connecting students with real world examples of department competencies in action. Additionally, this role will support the department in the goals of overall department programming and will create focused leadership programming for specific campus populations (including student employees, student organization leaders, class year, identity-based groups, etc.).

This position will work in a hybrid capacity with a combination of onsite and remote work.

What We’re Looking For:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of experience working with college student leadership development programs, program facilitation, program assessment, or related field.
  • Experience with CliftonStrengths.
  • Understanding of student development and leadership theories and demonstrated ability applying these theories to practice.
  • Ability to work with both curricular and co-curricular stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate groups that have multiple approaches/perspectives; particularly working within the multiple sub-cultures of a university campus.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to relate to college students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Understanding of basic assessment methods within student affairs.
  • Presenting and teaching skills.
  • Cultural competence as it relates to a diverse university community. 
  • Ability to collaborate with others and relate to people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Proficiency in Office software: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook/Electronic Email.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality.
  • Skills in social media, website, assessment and program development, and event coordination.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.
