The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion provides transformative institutional leadership and assistance in engaging and holding Southern members to create initiatives with measurable outcomes that will transform and dismantle systemic racism and oppressive hierarchies and build equitable communities that drive and measure progress across Southern. The division is seeking to hire the Inaugural Director of Inclusive and Restorative Justice Education & Development.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Institutional Inclusive Strategies and Change Management, the Director is responsible for conceptualizing and implementing a timely and effective full-cycle learning and development strategy for the institution—inclusive of needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and measurement of topics toward the enhancement and effectiveness of performance around equity and inclusion. Moreover, the Director oversees and coordinates educational initiatives that embed an organizational culture of cultural humility and develops mutually beneficial and non-paternalistic partnerships with communities. The position aims to extend the overall capacity and engagement within the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in addition to leading from an innovative, forward-thinking, and community-driven approach.

Incumbents must possess a proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and robust information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) Additionally, incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following: A Master's Degree in human resources, social psychology, organizational development, adult learning education, social work, academic or student affairs, higher education, or related field related to the development of college students, staff and faculty and 5-7 years of experience and knowledge of adult learning strategies, identity-based and critical race theory, cultural humility, bias awareness, change management and leadership, and inclusive communication strategies is required.

This position is classified as an Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) position within the Connecticut State College and University system and operates within the Admin V Pay Band.
