The salary for this position is high $40s annually, dependent on experience.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Associate Director supports and advances this mission by providing intentional educational opportunities, programs, resources, and service-learning experiences that prepare students for responsible leadership and active citizenship in both local and global communities. This role has a strong emphasis on democratic engagement – supporting our campus's commitment to identify and address issues facing our local, state, federal, and global communities.

Essential Job Functions:
Direct oversight of the college's commitment to democratic and civic engagement through experiences and initiatives that intentionally promote participation as global citizens in the democratic process, actively engaging in public policy and social action.
Oversee the Democracy Project, a student led, non-partisan initiative that strives to educate and engage Rollins students in the democratic process.
Co-advise the Rollins College Student Government Association in partnership with the Center for Campus Involvement to help facilitate student/faculty relations, to ensure that student concerns and needs are resolved and to ensure that students have a voice in what goes on around campus (Starting January 2023).
Coordinate the operation of all aspects of the Rollins College Bonner Leaders Program, a four-year, service-based college scholarship program that affords students an "access to education and opportunity to serve. "This would include recruitment and selection, orientation, training, placement, reflection, and evaluation for a 40 student cohort.
Provide Bonner students with developmental training and enrichment opportunities centered around the Bonner Common Commitments: Community Building, Diversity, Civic Engagement, Social Justice, International Perspective, and Spiritual Exploration.
Develop meaningful service placements for Rollins's students, faculty, and staff in partnership with local nonprofit organizations. Cultivate committed nonprofit partners with placements at multiple levels that are focused on capacity-building opportunities for students.
Work with Rollins faculty to enhance campus-community partnerships that connect academic curriculum to community-based learning and research opportunities.
Coordinate and meet with agencies and non-profit partners (in partnership with CLCE Staff and faculty) to set up community engagement that supports academic mission, learning outcomes, and pressing community need.
Assess community needs and service accomplishments.
Ensure Rollins College meets mandated requirements for federal funding and 501c3 status through efforts such as Constitution Day and maintaining a policy for nonpartisanship.
Collaborate with student affairs colleagues at peer institutions through affinity groups such as NASPA Lead Initiative, Students Learn Student Vote, Campus Vote Project, Campus Election Engagement Project, etc.
Submit annual action plans and reports to receive recognition and awards from organizations such as Voter Friendly Campus and the ALL IN Challenge.
Coordinate efforts to collect data and participate in the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement through Tufts University's Institute for Democracy and Higher Education.
Maintain partnerships with organizations such as TurboVote, the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office, the Orange County League of Women Voters, etc.
Research and oversee opportunities for growth in community engagement across the curriculum.
Oversee and/or collaborate in creating, organizing, and executing assessment tools and tracking measures that serve the needs of all Rollins constituents and the community.
Measure will focus on student success and retention utilizing AAC&U's LEAP Learning outcomes.
Advise registered student organizations that focus on service and community, and provide guidance in all relevant programming and events.
Collaborate with students, faculty and staff in creating, organizing, and executing events that serve the needs of all Rollins constituents and the community.
Participate on campus-wide committees that enhance academic mission and relate to community engagement and student success.
Coordinate, train, supervise, and evaluate one AmeriCorp Public Ally and one Graduate Assistant in providing direction on projects related to office management, community events, and leadership training.
Assist in the management of appropriate budgets, grant supervision, and grant writing.
Execute, support, and inspire both day and evening programs including, but not limited to attending events/projects, student meetings, functions, programs, and courses across the curriculum.
Assess learning outcomes and program evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:
Master's degree in student personnel, educational leadership, higher education, or a related field.
Requires two prior years of experience in higher education, specifically in Civic Engagement, Student Affairs and Academic Affairs divisions or comparable fields/experiences.
College experience in democratic and civic engagement, service-learning and leadership development.
Experience in working with faculty and curriculum development.
Experience in collaborating and partnering with community agencies.
Knowledge, skills and values related to academic service-learning and community engagement specifically through the context of college student development in higher education.
Knowledge of academic service-learning theory and practice, and application of academic service-learning in a 21st-century liberal arts academic curriculum.
Ability to supervise and collaborate with others in a team-driven environment.
Ability to analyze information and make judgment decisions.
Knowledge and practice of multi-tasking, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff and community members by establishing good working relationships that are grounded in learning and personal development.
Ability to understand and interpret complex oral and written instructions.
Knowledge, skill and advanced proficiency in web development and use of computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, database programs, Illustrator, Photo Editing, etc.
Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain an Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable MVR are required. Comfort with driving and maintaining a 15-passenger bus required.

Work Environment:
Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in an office environment.
Work requires visual strain and use of computer.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as appropriate.
